Easy to Understand = Easy to Support


Let's talk about the first tip of writing a needs assessment report: make it easy to understand. Has someone ever tried to convince you of something that you could not understand? Even if you have never experienced that, you can realize how you can more easily support a concept that makes sense to you as opposed to one that feels like it is spoken in another language.

Part of keeping the information easy to understand is to give enough information that is helpful, but not too much information that could either overwhelm or bore the audience. The goal is to show the needs within our program and gain support, so be sure to present information that provides clear and understandable information. Keeping this in mind is the first tip that will lead to meeting our goals.
